Route of administration and dosage
The number of vaccine doses in the bottle is indicated on the label.
Poultry from the age of 1 day are vaccinated in incubator conditions or in poultry houses in prosperous farms by one of the following methods: intraocularly, by the spray method or by the drinking method.
WARNING! For the prevention of infectious bronchitis in chickens, the intraocular and spray methods are considered the most effective.
Note before vaccination:
Use clean equipment in good condition that does not contain residual disinfectants.
The water temperature should be 10-20 °C.
Water for dissolving the vaccine should not contain chlorine and iron ions, as well as antibiotics and disinfectants.
For better quality of vaccination, it is recommended to use indicator-stabilizer "INDIGO" or others similar in quality.
The vaccine is dissolved by adding 5-8 ml of cooled clean drinking or boiled water to the bottle with the vaccine and shaking thoroughly until the lyophilisate is completely dissolved.
The resulting solution is used to prepare working solutions for each of the following methods of using the drug.
Intraocular method
The intraocular method is used for day-old chicks. The lyophilized vaccine is dissolved at the rate of 1000 doses of the vaccine in 30-50 ml of water (the exact amount of water depends on the type of dropper used).
Holding the bird in one hand, place it under the dropper so that one drop falls into the eye. The quality of the use of the vaccine is monitored by the color of the conjunctiva in blue.
Spray method
An automatic sprayer or a manually controlled sprayer is used to spray the vaccine. When using a manual sprayer, it is important to apply the vaccine to the birds twice.
Calibrate the automatic sprayer (or manually operated sprayer) to spray droplets of the appropriate size. Before carrying out the vaccination, check the correspondence of the size of the drops and the uniformity of the application of the solution by spraying it on any contrasting surface.
The number of doses of the drug is chosen depending on the number of birds to be vaccinated. Pour the vaccine solution into the spray tank and mix gently.
The vaccine solution is replenished every 1.5-2 hours. It is necessary to monitor the operation of the outlet and the temperature of the water (10-20°С). Spraying is carried out from a height of about 40 cm above the heads of the birds. As a result of spraying, the bird should be completely wet.
Vaccination by the large-drop method:
Chickens are vaccinated from the age of one day. 200-300 ml of water is required for every 1000 doses. The size of the drops is 150-250 µ. After spraying, keep the birds for 15-20 minutes in a closed, well-heated room away from drafts until they dry completely.
Vaccination by the droplet method:
Chickens are vaccinated no earlier than 12 days of age. 400-500ml of water is required for every 1000 doses.
The size of the drops is 100-150 µ. Gather the birds in one side of the aviary, turn off the ventilation and heating of the room, turn on the light. Spray the vaccine.
Turn on the ventilation 10-20 minutes after the end of the spraying process.
Vaccination check
The quality of vaccination is controlled by the presence of blue dye on the feathers of the birds, to make sure that the birds are completely wet, run your hand over them.
Method of drinking
The day before the vaccine is administered, the volume of water in liters that the bird drinks for 1-1.5 hours is determined. Vaccination should preferably be carried out in the morning.
On the day of vaccination, the vaccine is diluted in such a way that a predetermined volume of drinking water contains one dose of vaccine for one bird. Before vaccination, shut off the water supply for 1-3 hours
